Oribe's Luxury Hair Care

Miami-based celebrity stylist Oribe has created a new luxury hair care range for "the hair obsessed." 

The packaging seems more suited to the perfume category: jewel-like dark bottles and grey jars that look like cut glass and stone, decorated with the Oribe logo, a circular crest with a long-haired Lady Godiva-esque woman, reminiscent of carved rosettes in a Gothic cathedral. 

The cream boxes with edge stripes were designed to look like expensive embossed stationery to "blend old world sophistication with new age style and luxury."

There are five lines - Signature, Shine, Volume, Color and Curl.  In keeping with Oribe’s reputation for big bold styling, the  Shampoo for Magnificent Volume  ($36) features body-building polymers said to wash in truly uplifting volume and thickness. 

It contains a mix of natural extracts (lychee, watermelon fruit, moringa seed and edelweiss extracts) as well hydrolysed keratin and rice and jojoba proteins. 

The paraben-free formula includes Kaempferia galanga root extract, a natural anti-microbial. 

The shampoo offers UV protection and claims to be color safe.  Oribe products are available on line and through selected salons.
